I bought a req 10 colossal scimitar this morning for 100k (no ectos), and then found a req 11 about 15 minutes later.

My suggestion is that you should wait a week or two if you want to buy one, because they'll be going for 40k in no time. Prices are dropping rapidly as the rare items become pretty common. Nothing will be worth anything in another week or two.

Maybe I'm just unobservant, but I don't recall seeing more than a couple dozen corsairs total when I vanquished Zehlon reach. Is there a quest or something that makes throngs of farmable scimitar-wielding corsairs appear?

So once again, farmers coming out complaining that their virtual lives will no longer hold meaning...because the average person now has the ability (and option) to get what rediculously overpriced items you've been shovelling down their throats day after day...themselves.

So...you're upset at who exactly? If anyone, be upset with yourself, and realize this game, and not every game, depends on people like you.

It is not, has never been, for the trade inclined.

Absolutely not.

I've posted this image before, but it's still relevant. I have faith that zero-advantage bling is a founding principle of the design of GW, and that Anet won't ever pander to the elitists and hardcore addicts by budging on this principle. They're smarter than that - a huge element of GW's appeal is watching people in black FoW with the latest swords/axes getting wasted by scruffy PvP chars.

Im all for the price drop.
WHEN THE HELLS ANET GOING TO KEEP ITS PROMISE AND CATER FOR THE CASUAL GAMER MARKET.

We should be able to choose our armour when creating our characters. We should be able to craft rare skin items without collecting gold or material.

Infact why wont ANET unlock all the towns so we can travel to them without completing the missions. Ive got REAL LIFE issues to attend to such as my wife and kids i dont have time to do pointless quests just so i can reach Hells precipe i want to go there whenever i like, i want all the content the game has to offer with no investment in time.

Now whos with me ?

Ah, so things of high-prices are of little importance.

I can see why that's a major plus in Guild Wars - that it's not gear based. If only its PvE had more to offer.

man there are already 50 colossals in Auction. I think next week is going to be "Buy your perfect Colossal for 50k Week". I think ppl are now trying to sell their colossals which they bought for 100k+xx ectos for 100k=x ecto and they buy it back later for 50k.

I always see complaints like these >.>

Face it. ArenaNet introduces the Colossal Scimitar into Nightfall. Absolutely everyone wants the skin. Demand up -> Price up ->more farmers due to HM -> more supply -> more competition -> lower price -> happier customer

I'm not trying to apply something similar to the concept of David Ricardo's Iron Law of Wages into Guild Wars, and I don't know much about economic, but I just effectively answered your question. Please. Move on.

P.S. I've made quite a deal of money buying ectoplasm while they were 7kish. When the price rose back, ive sold all 50 (since I just realized I couldnt make the effort into acquiring FoW armor) and earned myself 50k. So, yes, using ectoplasm in trade does have its advantage.

I see alot of people here saying stuff like at least Anet are starting to see that everyone should be allowed to own what they want and stuff like that. Well um last time I checked there are still weapons which only the rich and insanely rich can afford and give unfair advantages over their "normal" versions.

I mean you can fantasize all you like about one day being able to buy whatever you like for a few plat but as long as people have hundreds of ecto you wont be seeing many of the above sell for less than a stack of them. Even if ecto and gold loses value they will sell for what is out of many people's reach.

Just stating a fact, there is not and will not be total equality in Guild Wars. And unconditional weapons are a perfect example of this.

Colossal Scimitars may fall in price along with other weapons but no matter how much you want to be able to buy whatever you want for little gold there will be weapons/items which will always be expensive.

That dwarven axe is amazing... one of the most expensive items in GW I guess.

Anyway, these real stat advantages outweigh concerns about skins IMO. I also think Anet should finally change these unfair items, like they changed the Rockmolder, Fiery Flame Spitter etc. Nerfing time!

Best looking and rarest stuff should only drop in high level end of game areas. You shouldnt have the wepons if you cant get that far in the game full stop and if you dont farm then you shouldnt have them either, there should be a way of telling a casual gamer compared to a expert.

Eventually? It's already unlikely that if you spend 100K in keys that you will find enough good items to sell for anything approaching 100K.

Then new farmer will probably just farm keys and sell them to the merchants (or players who are still hoping for that magic chest drop).

WTF is wrong with having nice rare weps for dedicated players who work hard, Most of the people who posted here are Communists, if u all had your way in real life i bet everyone would drive in Bmw's and live in mansions.

Rare weapons cost money to get! No matter it's 100k or 100K+ whatever ectos, it's the fact of life in GW. Without rarity, where would we be spending our hard earned gold?
